Questions, answered.
How is this different from FPL?
FPL is a points race — everyone accumulates points all season, and the highest total wins. Draftball is head-to-head: you draft a squad no one else can pick, then face a different opponent each gameweek, competing across eight categories. You win matches, not points. The result is a real league table with real matchups — and players FPL overlooks become genuinely valuable.
How does the draft work?
Managers select players one pick per round. Once a player is taken, he's off the board — no overlap. The selection order snakes: the manager who picks first in round 1 picks last in round 2, then first in round 3, and so on.
The draft is 15 rounds. Each position (FWD, MID, DEF, GK) has a min/max, giving you flexibility in how you shape your squad while ensuring you can field a full lineup every week.
Can we start mid-season?
Yes. While most leagues draft before the PL kicks off, you can start a league at any point in the season. Fantasy fixtures are mapped to the remaining gameweeks, so you can jump in whenever your group is ready.
What if not everyone pays?
Payment is on file when you sign up, so this rarely comes up — when the first gameweek ends, every active manager gets charged automatically. If a card fails for some reason, that manager keeps their team and lineups carry forward, but they lose the ability to manage actively (trades, waivers, lineup changes) until they sort their billing. The league keeps running either way — no one gets stranded waiting on a holdout.
